About the fund
Together with Abbott Northwestern a permanent fund was created in Marsha's legacy to provide assistance for women living with breast cancer.
Marsha was so thankful for the love, support and quality she received throughout her life—especially during her illness. She maintained positive energy throughout due to her ability to receive great care and spend time with friends and family.
Her legacy and hope is to pass a bit of that on to other women who share her illness, but not as much financial good fortune.

Marsha Ann Cummings Buchok
On Saturday, May 5, 2018, Marsha Ann Cummings Buchok—wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend—passed away peacefully with her family at her side.
Marsha’s 64 years were filled with too many joys to count, so here are a few: spending time with her beloved family, laughing amongst her massive circle of friends, a small bite of key lime pie, and too much half ‘n half in her coffee. Mom’s happy place was watching the sunset on Fort Myers Beach—our happy place was wherever she was.
Marsha is lovingly remembered by her father, James Patrick Cummings; her husband of 43 years, George; her children Jim, Tom (Liz Porto) and Anna Aschauer (Henry Aschauer); and her six sisters, Kathleen Cummings (John Thoma), Patti Just, Margaret O’Brian (Tom), Barb Forsman (Keith), Annette Beach (Ted) and Caroline Jackson (Jerry). Marsha was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Cummings.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 10 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church (Gymnasium), 4537 3rd Ave S., Minneapolis, MN. Visitation at 12:30 p.m. followed by mass at 2 p.m.
As her health declined, Marsha’s resilience, determination and compassion shined brightest. In partnership with Abbott Northwestern, she established the Marsha Cummings Buchok Circle of Friends Fund to assist other women living with breast cancer.
